Rachel O' Hora, Class of 2018

Congratulations to Rachel O’ Hara, Class of 2018, who performed a solo piano recital to a full audience in the National Concert Hall last Wednesday evening, 1st February.

Rachel is a multiple prize winner in a variety of prestigious competitions, and was awarded a significant Royal Irish Academy of Music scholarship in 2022. She has played nationally and internationally, and recently completed the Bachelor of Performance Degree at the RIAM.

Rachel’s commitment to her piano performance is exemplary. While in HCK she rehearsed daily before school, and beautiful music emanated from the Chapel lifting everyone’s spirits; Rachel also generously shared her talents, playing at so many ceremonies and celebrations through her years here.

Rachel played a  challenging repertoire from Haydn, Brahms, Ligeti and modern Irish composer Conor Linehan. She received a standing ovation, and Conor Linehan, who was in attendance, was hugely complimentary in his praise for her performance.

In the audience were Rachel’s loyal HCK friends and families who always support her and really enjoy every performance.

Actions not Words.
